Are Tamiya Miniatures any good?

Hey all!

Right now I’ve been extensively searching for World War II miniatures. I am a Warhammer 40,000 player, with a 1015 pt. Ork army. Anyways, I received news that the already expensive Warhammer 40k miniatures were gonna be even more pricey.

I soon ran across Tamiya. After seeing their relatively low prices, it sounded good to me. I’ve been looking for a new miniature line, preferably WWII.

The problem is that I can’t get a straight review of them no matter where I search! I need to know if these guys are worth it!

So, has anyone here bought from this company before? If so, what would you say is the quality of these miniatures? Good? Bad? Do they have good detail? And most importantly, would you recommend their products to a retired Warhammer 40,000 player?

Please answer quickly.

Hi, I can share some info with you. Honestly, i know nothing about warhammer stuff but i built Military Models SERIOUSLY (Mainly Tamiya Brand).

Been building Military Series Plastic Models since 2004. Its my full time hobby. Anyway, my review to tamiya is “GOOD”. Tamiya stands for its quality in its name. However, its not 100% perfect. Hope You Can understand as a modeller. Sometimes some modifications had to be done in order to fit some parts (Rarely).

There are brands like Revell, Trumpeter, Tamiya, Dragon, Academy, Miniart, Hasegawa, Airfix, etc. I still prefer Tamiya quality.

I had build tons of Military related models, same as you, i love WW2 more than modern. Tanks, Armour, Jeeps, Trucks and even space consuming 1/350 scale WW2 Battleships in their own Dioramas / Scenes in WW2 enviroment.

You can email me at viewfinder6500@yahoo.com if you are really intrested in scale models. I can help you out regarding any questions as there are lots to learn and know about these model kits.
